Writing Your Story, Leaving a Legacy

Your life story is unique, filled with experiences, wisdom, challenges, and triumphs that deserve to be remembered and shared.

Life Legacy Books invites you to take part in the powerful and creative journey of writing your life story through our Guided Autobiography (GAB) Classes. Through guided prompts, creative writing techniques, and a supportive community, you'll learn how to transform your memories into stories that can inspire others for generations to come.

Your story matters. Let’s write it together.

What Is Guided Autobiography (GAB)?

Join our online Guided Autobiography (GAB) classes led by Cheryl Carter, a certified Guided Autobiographist trained in the methods of Dr. James Birren, the founder of the Guided Autobiography process.

Cheryl brings her experience as a personal historian and writer to each class, providing the guidance and encouragement you need to reflect on your life and write with purpose and clarity.

These classes combine guided reflection with creative writing techniques, helping you uncover meaningful memories, explore important life experiences, and bring your stories to life.

You don't have to consider yourself a writer. You simply have to have a story to tell.

Our Approach: Writing Alone Together

Our approach—“writing alone together”—combines the best of personal reflection with the encouragement of a supportive community.

You'll have dedicated time to write your own story while being surrounded by others who are doing the same.

Writing your legacy isn't simply about documenting the past. It's about exploring what your experiences mean, what you've learned, and what you want future generations to remember.

For those whose faith is central to their journey, your story can also capture how your faith has shaped your life, how God has guided your journey, and how your experiences can become a testimony of grace, strength, and transformation.

Whether you're writing for yourself, your family, or a broader audience, this experience gives you the space to explore your life's meaning and express your story in your own voice.

Your story matters. Let's write it together.

Writing Your Legacy Story

Your story is your legacy.

Our Legacy Writing course gives Black and Brown writers space to reflect on personal experiences, heritage, cultural identity, family history, and the stories that have shaped their communities.

This course recognizes the unique perspectives, challenges, and triumphs of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and encourages participants to explore their legacy through the lens of identity, culture, and community.

Through guided writing exercises, meaningful prompts, and supportive group discussions, you'll be encouraged to reflect on your life with intention, honor your past, and preserve your story for future generations.

This course goes beyond storytelling. It's about reclaiming your narrative, celebrating your resilience, and recognizing the power of your voice.

By documenting your legacy, you're not only preserving your personal history—you’re contributing to a broader tapestry of experiences and stories that deserve to be remembered.
